September is gone, but October is here. I can feel it in my bones and I love the way it tingles.
Squish is sleeping in a pair of Manchild’s old pajamas that are too big for him. But they have monsters on them, and it’s October. The size of the pajamas is less important than their seasonality.
I’m aching to put sweaters on every day now. No matter that it is not quite cold enough for such things, nor that I end up walking myself into a sweat when I wear them (while wearing Little Miss and pushing the boys in the stroller with buggy board). It’s fall and fall means sweaters.
We’ve been playing “I Spy” a lot as we walk around these days. There’s a good bet if someone spies something “reddish orange” or “yellow” it’s the leaves on a nearby tree. Pretty soon they’ll all have fallen and we’ll be looking for piles of them to kick around and crunch through.
I’m scheming to go through as many cans of pumpkin as I can this year. There is a pumpkin cake I’ll be making for my sister’s birthday on Saturday, pumpkin gnocchi for dinner this week, pumpkin muffins for breakfast, and pumpkin doughnuts for a special treat sometime soon.
