Show and Tell

I have a special pre-NYC marathon post to share with you tomorrow, so I’m taking today off. At least a little bit.

It has been a bit of a slow day, and I’m wondering if you can’t help me out a bit. Do you mind telling me something interesting. Please? Just something quick. It could be about yourself, about your day, about your kids. Or maybe share something you saw recently, something you read, something you’ve been thinking about. What caught your attention or made you laugh? I’m all ears.

What’s making me laugh right now is watching my son via the camera we’ve set up in his room so I can tell when he actually takes a nap during quiet time. Today he’s played with his trains, experimented with turning the light switch on and off, and right now he’s sitting on an upside down laundry basket, swinging his legs and kicking the door. I think my quiet time is just about over.

Micah said, “Only Carlos . . .” Totally cool that you can spy on your son during naptime. I’ve often wondered what the Manchild does in there when he spends 3 hours not sleeping. You’ve given me a glimpse of the possibilities.

  2. I was walking down fifth avenue on friday and i heard a conversation pass between three preteenish looking girls. One girl turns to the one in the middle, and studying her face asks, “are you wearing lip gloss?” The third member of the trio says to the questioner, “no she just had a Popsicle.” I loved this little interchange because it’s really only a conversation you can have during one very short, very specific time in a girls life. Anyway, it still makes me laugh.

So true. Lip gloss and popsicles. Maybe I should just eat popsicles more often so it looks like I am wearing lip gloss. 😉

  3. First of all, I just adopted a daughter!!!! And, I just signed up for my first 5 K!!!
And, I think what’s interesting right now is, all the funny faces new-born babies make.
Oh, and, I went running and got to that place where I felt like running forever. It was AWESOME!

  4. well, this is a few days late, but something interesting and exciting for me is that i’m housing my inlaws treadmill for the winter. score. also, i just found out my husband dislikes the smell of my lotion because i used to put it on my pregnant belly and it reminds him of pregnant crankiness. sad and funny…

Total score. I was just thinking I’d love to have a treadmill for the winter . . . not that we have much space to put it, but maybe it would be worth making space if someone wanted to let us store it.

Hilarious about the lotion. I wonder if Micah has any triggers like that.

Also, I looked at your blog. Cute baby. Way to go.
